We have a couple of musicians who are new jazz vespers at St. Jude’s coming on Sunday, August 7th. They are trombonist William Carn and saxophonist Tara Davidson. Although I’ve not had the pleasure of playing with either of them, they both have great reputations and I’m really looking forward to making music with them. Replacing Tim Shia, a vespers regular on drums, is Glenn Anderson and Chris Banks (bass), as usual, keeps us all wondering what’s going to happen next. As you will likely know, this vespers coincides with the Downtown Oakville Jazz Festival. When you’re making performance and venue decisions, keep in mind that St. Jude’s has seats and a roof. We’ll be at 160 William Street (corner of Thomas) at 4:00 pm. We look forward to seeing you.
