I've said before that one of the joys of jazz vespers is that it provides me with the opportunity to do some match-making by bringing together musicians who’ve never worked together before and listen to what happens. But then there are times when what I want to do reunite a magical pairing. The upcoming March vespers will be one such reunion when Shannon Butcher and Colleen Allen will be with us. What is it promoters say? You won’t want to miss them!

And we have another reunion to celebrate as well. Our regular bassist, Chris Banks, will be away at a music festival in Mexico, so Darren Wall, who impressed me and others so much in September, will be joining us as well. You won’t want to miss him either. And the quirky Tim Shia will, as usual, be our drummer.
